It’s clearly wedding season in Bollywood and it’s got us thinking about all the gorgeous reel and real life wedding attires donned by our beautiful, blushing Bollywood brides. Naturally, we’re picking our favourites here for you too look for bridal inspiration worthy of the stars!
Alia Bhatt
All the gorgeous photos from the internet breaking Alia and Ranbir’s wedding are doing the rounds. But before we get to those, we’re running you through some of her many on-screen wedding looks.
For one of Alia’s most interesting on-screen looks portraying the South-Indian bride in 2 States, the wedding ensemble is aptly one of the most South Indian of attires — the half saree. While this gorgeous, bright outfit is often confused for a saree, the pattu half-saree is an unconventional choice for a wedding. Will that stop brides from wanting to recreate it? We hope not.
Another of her wedding looks from the same year in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is quite the opposite in every sense with the sunglasses with lehenga craze that was a staple for all 2010s brides. While this one is not by any means the most memorable of Alia’s wedding looks, it is proof that she is capable of looking cute in just about any avatar.
There’s one word to describe Raazi’s bridal looks – vintage, with outfits that look straight out of an old photo album of the 70s. While the wedding Ghaghra gives us the classic Nikkah look with Kohl-lined eyes and traditional jewellery, the Bidai look is a true classic – from the rosy-faced makeup to the perfect Indian saree blouse that can be found in every mom’s trousseau.
The Kalank wedding ensemble is one that is worthy of a dramatic period film. With a 3-piece ethnic outfit and heavy jewellery, Alia looked just regal.
Real wedding:
Our favourite of the wedding looks, no surprises here, is from Alia’s real life wedding. With a white and gold saree, veil and minimal makeup, there is consensus. She looks nothing short of ethereal.
The ads:
For some bonus non-movie wedding looks Alia has donned over the years, these two from Mayaavar and Mohey ads are memorable, not just for the outfits, but also for the wholesome empowered brides vibe.
Katrina Kaif
With an expansive career of almost 2 decades as a leading lady, it’s no surprise that not many actresses have quite as many wedding looks in their movies to flip through as Katrina Kaif. We might not be able to run you through every single one of them today but we do have quite a few to show.
Let’s start with the unusual category of the sad bride. While the outfits themselves are Katrina-worthy gorgeous, a few of the bridal ensembles have an unusual accessory – tears. While we don’t recommend the tears, the rest of the looks are worth the Pinterest board spots.

Another look like Katrina Kaif pulled off like no other is the white wedding gown.
While Bharat and Namaste London have more traditional gowns and veils, one with a classic sweetheart neckline and the other with lace, ZNMD and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya have some sleek stunners. Her Zindagi Na Milegi Dubara dress might just be one of our favourite of Katrina’s wedding looks, real wedding included!

Real wedding:
For the first of her 2 stunning looks from her wedding, Katrina Kaif was the quintessential Sayasachi bride with a stunning bridal-red lehenga and traditional jewellery. For her second ceremony, she opted for a striking floral saree with a full-sleeved blouse and matching veil.
Sonam Kapoor
Dolly ki dolly, one of Sonam’s lesser known films, has 16 bridal looks to draw inspiration from. In case you’re looking for something worthy of a fashionista, the soon-to-be mom’s real wedding ensemble lives up to expectations. Isn’t she khubsurat?
Priyanka Chopra
After watching Priyanka Chopra’s many outfits during her real life wedding, it’s no surprise that she might actually pull off ALL the bridal looks. Proof: The two beautiful marathi bride outfits in Kaminey and Agneepath and the perfect bengali bride in Gunday.

Agneepath
It’s also not the first time she has sported a big fat Indian bride with textbook Bollywood bride outfits in Waqt, Hero and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, way back in the day. Come to think of it, is there a better way to find a PC wedding lookbook than to watch 7 Khoon Maaf, the movie with a myriad of bridal looks PC definitely killed.
7 Khoon Maaf
Our favourite of the reel weddings? The understated bride in Anjana Anjaani and What’s Your Rashee.
Anjaana Anjaani
Now there isn’t much we can say about her real wedding outfits that hasn’t been said before. Each one of them is an epic, extravagant look that shaped the ceremonies and not the other way round. Don’t believe us? See for yourself.
Deepika Padukone
In case you are wondering what Deepika Padukone would look like in a white wedding gown, the blink and miss wedding in Finding Fanny is a good place to look.
Now we’re breaking the rules a little with the next two, they are a bit too iconic to leave out of the link based on a technicality. While these two looks from Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat are not technically from a wedding scene, but if they aren’t considered bridal, we don’t really know what is.
Bajirao Mastani
Padmaavat
For her real wedding, Deepika had wedding outfits that rival her larger than life reel ensembles. The Konkani wedding had an exquisite kanjeevaram saree while the Sindhi wedding had a elegant, red Sabyasachi lehenga.
Anushka Sharma
Anushka Sharma’s that has some beautiful Nikkah avatars to give brides inspiration for outfits and jewellery alike in Ae Dil Hai Muskil and Sultan.

Now that we have a whole bollywood bride wedding lookbook, time to start wedding outfit planning?
Don’t worry, we won’t judge if there isn’t a fiancé in the picture.
